The Four Worlds

As humans we have 4 parts to our being. Kabbalah equally considers 4 worlds.
THE FOUR WORLDS
Atziluth (The spiritual world) and Briah (The mental world) are the place of the archetypal male and female – Abba and Ima.
These are also the worlds of energy and of pattern.

ATZILUTH
World of Fire and insight –
The Gods
Represents the Spiritual World.
Represents the Archetypal World – Pure Divinity
The World of Proximity and Emanation
It is a world that exists on a gut level but not in words or reality.

Atziluth is the world closest to the world of the Creator.
Atziluth means “emanation” implying an emergence from nothing. It is the process by which nothing becomes something, but it is before creation as such, which belongs to the next world, Briah. It is pure energy with no form at all.

BRIAH
The World of Air and Knowledge
The Archangels
Represents the Mental World
Represents the Creative World – The Archangelic
THE WORLD OF CREATION
Ideas and our creations from those ideas emanate from this level of existence.

Briah applies creativity to the energy of Atziluth and starts to build a pattern around which that energy may flow.
Archangels work in the creative world of BRIAH – the Briatic World
If Atziluth is the spark of G-d that makes us reach beyond ourselves, Briah is the breath of G-d that makes us human.

YETZIRAH
The World of Water and Consciousness
The Angels
REPRESENTS THE PSYCHOLOGICAL WORLD
Represents the Formative World
THE WORLD OF OUR MIND
This can either bloom into creative thought, or be polluted by repeated obsessions and habits.
Angels operate in Yetzirah. Their task is to take the archetypes'energies and patterns of the higher worlds and use them to form the lower world of Assiah.
If Aziluth is the fertilized embryo and Briah the womb, then Yetzirah is the channelled energy that is directed into the formation of the embryonic child.
The lower face of Yetzirah is the realm of the ego. We live most of our time in this area. It is the region of the “inner life” and is therefore the most recognizable area of Yetzirah.
The upper face of Yetzirah is beyond our direct experience for most of the time. It is the realm of the higher self or guardian angel.

ASSIAH
World of Earth and Experience
The Planets
REPRESENTS THE PHYSICAL WORLD
Represents the Material World, Man THE WORLD OF ACTION We take our ideas and our creativity and put them into action in this plane.
This is where the journey of creation ends and the journey of return starts.
The world in Assiah represents the physical plane and everything that happens there, from our physical body and our senses to nature, technology, art, society, war, and politics.
All the actions on the physical plane are Assiatic in nature, although their causes will originate from the other worlds.
